EPCOT illuminations changes?

Illuminations show has changed. No big led globe that opened and shot fire works ....instead, lighted "Siemens" sign. Why the change? Anyone know?

Isn't the globe down for rehab? I don't know but I think I read something like that. I know that there are many people here that can clear this up better than I just did.

Correct, the globe is down for rehab and will return when finished.

It was scheduled for 4 to 6 weeks of rehab starting in August, so it should be back up and running by mid-November. I love that show also.

Someone in the Twitter-verse stated that what Disney has placed some pyrotechnics in place of the globe while it's down for refurbishment. I'll be there next Friday, so I'll be able to find out for myself

I'll be there next week as well so will be anxious to see what they do in place of the globe.

I read somewhere that a male voice is now singing during Illuminations. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

Sorry- didn't hear any singing. Illuminations had the basic fire, water & fireworks show with minor changes. No Globe. Siemens sign illuminated in place of globe. No big applause from crowd as before. Know that Siemens sponsers much at Disney but the commercial sign is unimpressive.
