Disney's Magical Express/Character Breakfasts

Today I received my luggage tags and information on Disney's Magical Express. In the information book that came with it, it says that the bus will pick us up at our resort on our day of departure approximately 3 hours prior to hour flight time. If anyone has used Magical Express before, can you tell me if this is accurate? Is it really 3 hours? Our plane takes off at 1:40 pm that day, and we have breakfast reservations at Chef Mickey's for 9:15. That would leave us less than an hour and a half to eat breakfast and get back to the hotel in time for the pick-up for the airport. How long does a character breakfast usually take? Should I reschedule our reservation for earlier in the morning?

Yes it is 3 hours prior. You should probably even be there around 15 minutes prior to the 3 hours. Our flight was at 10:45 am and we were scheduled to be picked up at 7:45 am. Our bus actually got there around 7:35 am and we just happened to be already waiting. It loaded quickly and we were on the road at 7:45.
But it does come promptly in my experiences.

If your breakfast is a buffet it could take a very long time. LOL
I would think the breakfast would take at least an hour to eat and see all the characters. And, yes, the buses run on time and they don't wait from what I'm told. They do know how many they are expecting to pick up.

I cancelled our breakfast reservation and set a new one for 8:00 am, so we should have plenty of time to eat!
