If you'd like to avoid pool noise you'll want to be sure you're not in a preferred room location. The preferred buildings normally are around the pool and closest to the main lobby so there is typically more noise. Of course that means you won't be close to the bus. So really you have to decide which is more important, being close to the bus, or away from noise.
To be very honest, I'd not worry too much about the noise. I've stayed in rooms facing the pool and the parking lot and never really had any more noise than when I didn't. Frankly there is no way you'll avoid noise entirely on Disney property, simply because the majority of folks making noise do so after they've returned back to their room from the parks, which would mean later at night.
You can try requesting a room on the backside of one of the pool facing buildings. That way you don't have the pool noise to contend with at least and are still close to the bus.
No matter what, you'll have a great time!
Sometimes all you need is a reminder that out there lies a better place... a better world... a Walt Disney World.

Welcome to the boards!
You didn't mention what time of the year you are going. If it is an off season (kids in school) noise probably won't be a huge issue. If it is winter not many people will be swimming unless it is unusually warm. Also the AS Music tends to draw less children than the other AS's or POP Century although that is no guarantee against noise.
I hope this helps and have a great time!!

I wouldn't really worry about the noise. I have stayed at the All Star Music twice (stay #3 next week
) and have never had a problem with anyone being too noisy. The rooms are very well insulated, and as long as you're not staying during a week where there are a lot of school groups staying there, people are pretty respectful and keep the noise level to a minimum (of course there are no guarantees...). The worst noise I've experienced there is hearing the water from a toilet flushing or a shower, but you really can't help that!
Have a great trip!!

Time-wise, you many want to stay away from Pop Warner/Cheerleader championships (which may be going on right now), as they tend to stay at the All-Stars and POP.
Otherwise I agree...if you REALLY want to avoid the pool noises, get a back-side room. I don't think any particular building as a whole is not within earshot of the pools. At the extreme back at least you'd avoid the people traffic going by...that would be Country Fair I believe at ASMu.
