I was wondering if they are going to start selling the walk around the world stones again at the parks, if not is there anything similar that my fiance and I can do on our honeymoon there that will kinda set it in stone so to speak and make it romantic?

When we bought ours back in 2000, we were under the impression they would only be around 20-25 years.

i heard they were temporary also which is why we didn't buy them(and we didn't particularly like how they looked). so i'm glad we got the one in front of the MK(and by we i mean my parents paid for it ). we would have got one for our dogs but it was too late!

I whined incessantly for weeks for one of those, but the parentals refused to crack the piggy bank over it . sigh... i guess they just couldn't see how much having my name etched in stone in front of the happiest place (and probably my favorite place!) on Earth would mean to me.

Are you saying that they would not be round forever. Why would anyone pay for a temp. thing.

awh, don i'm sorry! it is a really special thing...maybe there's someone who has your name who has one? you can pretend it's yours, i won't tell we got ours before we moved, so it has special meaning for me to know that my hometown is on it

My family has 3 stones.. which are not permant either. You have a certain number of year for replacement stones where they will put in a newly engraved stone to replace a broken one.. Once your time is up they will take out any craked and damaged stone and put in a blank one.

Ok, did you go reading my "You know you're obsessed with Disney when..." list? Because that was almost exactly what I wrote 2 days ago! Either that or you just think slightly underhanded at times, just like me!

-You feel, no...you KNOW that you missed out on the opportunity of a lifetime when you couldn't afford to have your name engraved into a brick in the sidewalk in front of the Magic Kingdom.

-You actually read hundreds of those bricks hoping to find someone else with the same name as yourself so you can lie to your future generations.

I can't remember how much it cost to leave your legacy, but my husband & I did it on my honeymoon. They told us it would only be around for another 20 years (give or take a year). We didn't care. It wasn't that much. Maybe almost $50 for both??? I can't remember. We found our pic when we went back this Jan...
    Aren't we cute?
