I was in the World in March because my dad had a conference there. While he had to be in class, I played in the parks, so I guess I was kind of a solo traveler for a little bit. I mostly ate at counter services and I had no problems. I missed my dad while I was at the parks, but I also enjoyed it because I did what I wanted to do and didn't have to worry about what other people wanted to do.
Solo touring is the way to go if you really want to take in all the details. As far as dining, I had ADR's for all my meals, but I think if you pick an odd time to eat, like mid afternoon or late night, you could walk up. I was the only diner in Trails End at 4:30 pm one day. Have a great trip!

I didn't travel by myself to WDW but did spend 2 days alone traveling around the parks. It was nice because I could stop and do what I wanted and not have anyone complane about it! The CM's pay extra attention to you it seems. I didn't dine by myself but I would go at odd meal times so that you have a better chance of getting a seat. Or just do counter service meals. Have fun!!

I've done solo traveling a few times and have had very little problem with walking up to sit downs. I have walked into Le Cellier, Crystal Palace, and Liberty Tree Tavern with no problem. Of course it does depend on the day...

I would love to go to WDW alone...but my husband thinks he HAS to go too!![]()
I travel so much for work on my own, that it is weird to make trips to the parks with friends or family. But when they go it makes it even more fun then I realized.
Most sit downs can get a solo in easily because they know we will not be there for very long. I mean, who are you going to have that after dinner conversation with that drags everything out? I have been in and out in under 40 minutes and never felt rushed. Also, like it was mentioned above, look at non-busy times.
