yup every night
Does anyone know if they burn off the excess gas from the fire barge EVERY night? We experienced it once while leaving the park late via the int'l gateway. There was a countdown and then a huge BOOM! Last August, we tried to hear (and see) it again with no luck.
Thanks in advance!
yup every night
This was mentioned last week on the WDW Today podcast. I read in their show notes afterwards however that they are no longer doing the burn off. This info came from a listener that wrote in after the show, so I don't know if the burn off was temporarily suspended or if this is permanent.
Aww... I really wanted to see it. Do they do it even when the christmas tag plays after? I stayed like an hour andn a half after the park closed to try and see it, but no sign. We only watched the boats go round and round and round and round...
The Golden age never was the present age… but with human liberty we can fulfill the promise and meaning of America. To everyone a chance. To all people, regardless of their birth the right to live, to work, to be themselves, and to become whatever their visions can combine to make them. This is the promise of America...And I foresee the American adventure to continue for a long, long time!

Are you 23? I am!
I think I heard that they sometimes do it later after everyone is out of the park, but I do believe they have to do it every night for safety reasons.

We caught it one night over the New years holiday week. We had the last seating at Teppan Edo, and was there so long - a nice security guard came to, very politely, hurry us along! We were the only guests still in World Showcase, and got the change to see the "Big Boom!!" it was like nothing we had ever seen before!!

Thanks for all the replies. If anyone's down there now, check it out and give us an update!
I know that sometimes they didn't do the burnoff until after park close...I don't know whether they stopped it completely. They really do need to burn it off though.
