    Upgrade an existing ticket ???

My daughter just got married last year and her husband has never been to Disney. They are going to get a 4 day park hopper with Water park option on their tickets. If he decides he like WDW, could they before the ticket expires pay the difference for a 10 day with park hopper with water park option and NO EXPIRATION ?? Daughter has been a bunch and loves it but wasn't so sure about him. This is strictly to have left overs for when they go again in the future.

As long as the original ticket is still valid it can be extended.

Have any more ticket questions? check out Deb's Unofficial Walt Disney World Vacation Information Guide - WDW Planning Guide - Walt Disney World, they have an extensive ticket question area.

Re: Upgrade an existing ticket ???

Specifically, you can perform whatever upgrades you want on any MYW ticket, so long as it is within the first 14 days of its first use. That is true even if the ticket has a no expire option - you cannot upgrade it further once it is past 14 days.

As for the no expire option, be sure that it is really worthwhile. In general, the no expire option is only worth it if you can fit complete visits within the number of days you have on it. Having to purchase another ticket for another few days to cover a vacation can be less economical than just getting a ticket of the appropriate length (when you take into account the cost of the no expire option as well). You also pay for the cost of the no expire option based on the total number of days of the ticket used or unused - not the days remaining.

Actually, if you do have the water park option on the tickets, it can be very worthwhile to add the no-expiration option. That ticket gives you 10 days for at the 4 parks, plus an ADDITIONAL 10 days for water parks and/or Disney Quest...

This means, that with the non-expiring option, you could actually use these tickets for 20 days worth of fun.

For instance... Trip 1: 4 days in the main parks, 2 days in the water parks, 1 day at Disney Quest... a full week of fun... AND keep the tickets for the next trip... Trip 2: 6 days in the main parks, 1 day in a water park... that may sound fine and dandy, good use of the pass, but after those 2 separate week-long trips (that could be years apart if need be), you'd still have 6 more days to use at DQ or water parks! So save the passes for 2 more days at DQ or water parks on Trip 3, Trip 4, & Trip 5... and for those trips, you could just get regular annual passes or any type of tickets for just the 4 main parks... so it's cheaper tickets for all those future trips until you've used up all 10 water park & more options.

So it can be worth while... especially if those future trips are years down the line.

If you intend to use everything within a year though, estimate how many days you'll actually use for all the parks you intend to visit, as you might be better off with premium annual passes, or annual passes plus a one-day admission to water parks or Disney Quest.

If you already have the water park option on your tickets that you're upgrading from, then if you want to upgrade to non-expiring, it's non-expiring on all the days... can't just upgrade with non-expiring on remaining days...

And if you upgrade from tickets with the water park fun option to Annual Passes, you must upgrade to Premium Annual Passes.

    Hope this info helps!

Yes, the WFPM option does make the no-expire more valuable in general, since those don't expire either...but you should always look at all your options based on your future trips to make sure what tickets make sense for you.

The water park option is the key. Once you tried it, you'd definetley want to go back. We have had the annual premium pass before but this time this year my wife and I will probably go only twice. If we do make it down there more than twice we'll just buy a couple day ticket.
