Sharpies for Autographs

I think I read on a forum last year that some Sharpies were not suitable for the characters to use for signing books. Does anyone know if there is some truth in this and if so are their types of Sharpies that work better than others for the characters to use.

We always buy the big oversized pens from the park and always end up losing them

I think they sell oversized Sharpies at most office supply stores such as Office Depot or Staples.

We always used sharpies and haven't had a problem. They weren't over sized. I would get everyone a different color- not sure why.

The ultra-fine tip ones are really not the best at all.

We used the Sharpies that are retractable, like a ballpoint pen. They have a thick body, a fine point, and the tip can be clicked in and out without having to worry about a cap. Every character we saw had no problem using it. I can't take credit for the idea though, I got it from Lou's recent podcast about getting autographs!

Sharpies are fine, especially the clickable sharpies. However, the one color that should not be used is green sharpies.

The different colour ones are a good wee idea, we have twins so I will get 4 and lets them pick and choose.....I remember more about the post that said they were an issue and I think the lady in question disliked them personally.......perhaps she was trying to start a campaign against them, lol....Kidcot use them at EPCOT so Disney cannot mind them that much

DONT USE ANYTHING WITH A CAP!!! Characters can't see well as it is! let alone figure out there is a cap on the pen or sharpie

Actually, pens with caps are fine. Just make sure the cap is removed before you get up to the character(s).

I agree! We love the clickable Sharpies.
