Disney Dining Plan Reservations

Hi,
We have booked a vacation in October 2008 to WDW from the UK in October 2009 with Virgin Hloidays to stay at the Port Orleans French Qaurter with the disney dining plan.
I have just spent the last 30 minutes on the phone to WDWD reservations who could not find my details on their system.
Could you tell me if it is possible to book reservations on line without a room reservation and if you can will these bookings be payable with the dining plan credits when we arrive or will any bookings made online have to be paid with hte credit card used to book them?
It's nearly 11.00 at night now so we are retiring for the night, I look forward to any replies to this thread in the morning.

I have made Dining Reservations without having a room reservation. When you get to the restaurant they will ask you if you will be using the Dining Plan. At that time you can just advise them you will be using the dining plan. I've done it several times - when they used to let you book your dining 180 days in advance and I did not have any room reservation made at that time.

You can also make your dining reservation online now. Just go to Disney.com and to the Disney World link. find the dining link, and there you can now make your reservations without being on hold forever on the phone! Just remember, you can start making your reservations 90 days from check in.

If you do not have a valid resort reservation number, you cannot book in advance of 90 days from the day of the desired ADR - but you SHOULD be able to book at 90 days regardless of a reservation number since offsite guests won't have one either.

When you book through a travel agent, it is generally expected that the travel agent will make your ADRs for you. If the travel agent can give you the specific Disney reservation number, you might be able to make ADRs based on that during the 90+10 window...
