I'm not a fan of the actual American Idol television show, but I really do enjoy the show at Disney a lot more than I thought I would. I think the preshow guy does a great job of getting people pumped up and making it a fun and exciting atmosphere.
I don't know if a thread has been posted about this or not, but is American Idol Experience worth a visit?? It is really a good show or just karaoke with flashing lights and actors as judges?? Just wondering what you guys thought about the new show. Thanks!![]()

I have a Disney book coming out in the first week of March. Stop by www.fromscreentotheme.com for more details!
I am a big fan of the show on TV, but I have to admit, I thought the American Idol Experience was kind of a letdown. It really just is Karaoke with lights and sound. I am glad I saw it once, but I don't think I will need to see it again - unless I know someone who is competing!

If your a fan of the show, i think u will enjoy it more than if u weren't because of the personalitys of the judges. The guy who played simon was great!
I don't watch the show on TV, but my wife and daughters do. I did enjoy the show at DS. It was fun and the contestants were good. Maybe I just caught a good show, but I think it is worth seeing.
Thanks guys for all of your opinions!!

I'm pretty excited to go see it next weekend simply because it's interactive and there are bound to be one or two good contestants. It's a fun idea for a live show but I don't really love watching it on tv all that much. We will see what its like soon enough but i think everyone should try it at least once cause you never know, you might love it
DisneyGuy87 - your right,
don't knock it untill you try it.

We were not going to do it on our last visit in May. However at the last minute decided to go to the last show. Boy are we glad we did. The excitment and getting to pick the winner is really a lot of fun. It's something I would do again.
Upcoming Disney Vacations
Unfortunately nothing planned at this time
So, I know this post is a bit old, but I just wanted to throw a little bit of the backstage info in. When I was there in February (I believe a day after the opening), I was one of the contestants in the show! If you sing, this is sooo freakin' awesome! They make you feel like a real contestant, with hair and make up, a vocal coach, real auditions and all of that. I loved it sooo much and will definitely do again when I get back there this year. I got to audition for the real AI with my golden ticket in Denver this year, but didn't make it through, sadly... but it was still awesome. It does take up a lot of time though. I got there at about 8:30 AM, and auditioned, did all of the stuff preparing for the 11:00 AM show, didn't get done until like 1:00 and then had to go back for the show that night. Disney did a really good job with this one, more so for making the contestants feel very important than making it an awesome experience for the audience. I never did watch it from the audience, so I cannot honestly review it from that point, but like I said before, if you like singing, get there early and audition. You will be happy you did!
My name is Emily and I am addicted to Walt Disney World. There, I said it and I'm proud.

We weren't able to get inside for the show, so we stood outside and watched the big screen. I was really disappointed at first that we didn't get inside and was just going to go do something else, but after watching from outside I was glad we did that and just as glad we didn't get inside.
I've been a contestant AND in the audience. I got a huge rush being a contestant. It was nerve wracking and exciting. I didn't make it past the first show, but I got further than I expected.
I love having the power to vote for contestants. Every show is slightly different because you have different people performing. It's in the best interest of Disney to keep the level of each performance high. After all, they are sending on the best from each day to actually audition. I'm looking forward to seeing someone audition before the "big three/four" having come through AME.

I like the show! It's pretty cool and some of the people are actually really really good!
I hope we never lose sight of one thing, that it was all started by a mouse.
