| D23. I have some questions. Hello everyone. First post here but long time podcast listener, well atleast for the past 6 months. I've been thinking of joining D23 since I actually do consider myself a Disney fanboy of sorts, mainly Disney World fanboy. But I've been wondering if it was for me or not. I know the expo is coming up and it's going to be held in Disneyland. Well I live in Alabama and I've taken 2 Disney World trips 15 years apart, the last one being just a couple of weeks ago. I plan on taking my family back for years to come and want to make it a mandatory every 3-5 year trip minimum. Anyways, what I'm getting at is I'm a little unsure about D23 and if they will ever hold a special expo outside of just Disneyland. Because if I'm going to join I want to benifit from it when I go to WDW as well in the future and just in general would it be good to join for all the membership packages you recieve as far as magazine etc etc. I don't really ever plan to make it out to Disneyland on the west coast anytime real soon so I want to make sure D23 is for all around Disney and not just west coasters. Another thing that made me think this is from another podcast a guy calling in saying he wasn't really interested in joining because he's on the east coast, so that's another reason I sparked up the question. Thank you! |

| Re: D23. I have some questions. I'm from Pittsburgh, and I feel that my Membership is completely worth it. First of all, the magazine. It would cost $64 without the membership. The magazine is AMAZING... It's beautiful. It has very interesting stories that are usually not about Mickey Mouse clubhouse, Hannah Montana, and the Jonas Brothers. There are many stories about the company's experiences, disney parks, and walt disney pictures sides of disney. So far, along with the magazine, we have gotten a special gift each time. First, it was the Mickey Mouse 80th anniversary portrait. Then it was the Disneyland 1955 attraction fan, and this season it's the artwork patch from Disneyland '59. Very cool things worth wayyyyy more than the extra $11 on top of the magazine I have to have... To reap the benefits of the special events and the expo (so far anyway...) you're gonna have to spend money to travel to the main cities of New York, Orlando, and Anaheim. But that may change, and if you are willing to spend the money to get yourself there, the events seem to be totally worth it with the reviews they're getting. They have some Merchandise that is pretty cool. You may think, sure... pay to be able to buy more stuff? Well...yeah. Club 33 and different collectors memberships for the WDCC are examples of this. They have some pretty nice pins and shirts and stuff... and they recently put out a pre order for 2 D23 MEMBER EXCLUSIVE Cds that make me think that my membership is even more worth it. So Overall, I think that the D23 membership is more than worth it, especially now that we see that when D23 launched, Disney was just getting started... and I'm sure there are many more great things to come from D23. I hope I helped!!!! Disney2000

| Re: D23. I have some questions. I agree, the magazine is beautiful and the little gifts are nice. However, I have felt that the magazine is really slanted toward Disneyland. There's hardly been any features on Walt Disney World, which I find disappointing. If this doesn't change by the time my subscription is up, I will probably not renew. It is not worth it for only Disneyland articles. |

| Re: D23. I have some questions. Yes that is true. The magazine does tend to be slanted towards Disneyland. I don't mind it, because I love learning about any of the parks... and the articles are very interesting especially to see how some of the ideas and techniques from Disneyland come to WDW. I too hope we do see some more WDW in the magazine.
