| B-Ticket Holder | Marvel And Disney: Whats the story? So as we all know, Marvel is now owned by Disney. But Marvel has rides that are in non-Disney parks, for example, the Hulk roller coaster in Universal, and the new Superman Bizzaro in Six Flags. Will Disney take these rides and make a whole new theme park with just these characters? Or, will they add on a land to another park? I'd really like to see like a Marvel area maybe in Hollywood Studios.

| Re: Marvel And Disney: Whats the story? It is generally understood that Universal has a pretty solid contract to use at least the Marvel characters they have now for an indefinite amount of time, so long as they keep paying the license fee. That contract precludes Disney from using them at least at WDW - and it is also believe that the contract actually gives Universal exclusive rights east of the Mississippi. So it seems unlikely we'll see anything major in the parks any time soon. Although Disney might be able to do something with characters that Universal does not have the rights to, without the headliners like Spider-Man and The Hulk it seems unlikely an entire park would be built around them. Disney purchased Marvel for reasons other than theme park attractions.

fyi, superman is DC, not marvel. six flags does have DC rights (batman, superman, etc) but not marvel.

| Re: Marvel And Disney: Whats the story? Disney will simply retire all of these characters and none will ever be used again. It is their right and I support this decision. |
