Food & Wine Newbie
I booked a trip to WDW in the first week of October (7 days), and was able to snag Free Dining. A large appeal of this time is Food & Wine, which I've never been to before. I understand that EPCOT gets busy on the weekends with locals for the festival so I'll probably try to avoid EPCOT a bit the weekend of our arrival. Though we're staying at Yacht and Beach Club, which will make for swift entry into the countries.
Any tips for this newbie? How much do the foods generally cost? I'm not really a fan of wine so I'll just eat my way around the world :)
One theory I had was that I could double up free dining for dinner at signature restaurants. And then to offset the loss of 2 dining credits for one meal, have the F&W festival be my dinner since either way that's gotta be money out of my pocket. But i'd love to hear other peoples' approaches, theories, ideas, anecdoes, etc.
(Since we love Epcot, we'll likely be there for many different days).

Take me with you!!!!
Menus will be out ahead of time so look them over the pick what you would like to try. Don't try and eat around the world. You'll get full fast.
If they have the fishermans pie again you have to try it if you like seafood. It was the best!!

Re: Food & Wine Newbie
we did a couple of the seminars in the old body wars building that were interesting.
They have a little gift card that you can put money on so that way you don't have to keep pulling money out of your pockets or wallets
The fisherman/scallop pie was awesome, beer-cheese soup, chicken soulvakie (spelling) were awesome. We tried a little of everything

If I'm not mistaken, you can use snack credits for some of the offerings at Food and Wine, also somehow use a counterservice credit for a meal. But this may have changed, so you might want to verify with Disney.

What about Disney rewards? I have the Rewards visa and will be cashing in sometime in the summer. I should have a good chunk on a rewards card. I know it can be used on dining (and almost anything else).

It can be used anywhere they have a credit card machine, just like a credit card, I used mine last trip on food and merch.
