As I have always done it, I just show up and say that I need a parking pass. There hasn't been an issue with that yet.
Also congrats on being a CP.
This is the first time I will be driving to WDW and I have a quick question. How does parking at the resorts work? Do I need to call ahead and tell them I will be bringing a car? Do I need to apply for a parking pass? or do I just show up the day of check in?
thanks for the help!

We have driven to Disney on every trip we take (SC to FL). Since we started staying on Disney property, we have driven to Contemporary twice, Polynesian once, and Animal Kingdom Lodge once. Upon arrival, you have the choice of parking for free in the resort parking lot or use the valet parking which incurs a daily charge. We used the valet parking at Animal Kingdom Lodge and felt it was a waste because we parked our vehicle first day and never needed it again until we left (usual scenario). So unless you plan to use your car for transportation during your stay, I would personally recommend the free parking. Also, Disney contracts out the valet parking so if any problems you must deal with them and not Disney.
Hope this is helpful. Mike M
Incidentally, I thought I would also mention that, upon arrival, you will be given a parking pass for the length of your resort stay that will also allow you to visit and park at any Disney resort. Not sure if this will get you free parking at the parks, but why would you want to do that when Disney transportation is both free and handy? As noted, we typically park the car on the first day and I don't see it again until the day we leave.
Thanks. Mike M
