Re: food & wine questions
allears.net had some great information last year when we were getting ready to go. Don't forget to get the special food & wine gift card it makes it so easy to pay for your food. When we used up all our snack credits from the dining plan it was so easy to swipe for our purchases.
Re: food & wine questions
I was also going to recommend allears.net. They seem to post everything for Food & Wine as it is released. Their video and photo blogs provide nice previews.
Re: food & wine questions
The Disney Food Blog also has some great info on Food & Wine. You might want to check them out as well. :)
Also, small personal tip - if you go with someone else, split up. If you each stand in a different kiosk line, then meet up and share, the festival goes a lot more smoothly!
Re: food & wine questions
thanks guys... im excited to get a day off and go check out the different places you mentioned
Re: food & wine questions
so what can we use our snack points on?
Re: food & wine questions
You can use your snack points on just about anything that is offered as a sampling from the countries (at least you could in previous years). We saved our snack credits for what we thought would be the most expensive offerings (USA had lobster rolls one year). We used every snack credit while at Food and Wine and we also bought the prepaid card and used quite a bit on that. Just keep close tabs on the prepaid card if you decide to use that, they charged us to much at one kiosk and it took quite awhile to straighten it out.:mickeykid
Re: food & wine questions
where do you get the prepaid card? between me and him we have 6 snack credits..woo hoo!

As I remember you could pick up the prepaid card at the gift shops entering into World Showcase or food kiosks along the way and you can also refill them there accordingly (which we had to do several times, those $4,$5,$6 and sometimes more can really add up). Be careful about filling the card up to much because you can't get your money back but you can spend the leftover in the gift shops.....which was not a problem for me:grin:
Re: food & wine questions
I attended once and probably will not be back. There's nothing special to it at all. At least with Flower & Garden, there's plenty to see all throughout the park. With Food & Wine, there are no perks. It's not food sampling, it's purchasing overpriced bite-sized 'meals'. Nothing more than a money-making ploy in true Disney style. Never again.
Re: food & wine questions
i went there in 08 and we didnt sample anything.. but its us as a couple having fun.. were not brave souls and we dont cut loose to often.. so we plan on drinkin which is rare and eating and acting a lil foolish.. it just sounds like a good way to get the weekend going and just gettin off the plane we will be good and hungry..
and spendin the extra will so not be a issue for me :) thats another thing.. we plan on taking a good sum of blow cash with us.. something else we never do.. we plan on buying whatever we want or doing whatever we want.. usually its like on tshirt or take home gift.. not this trip.. no mama
