Is it true that the bedroom in Cinderella's Castle is reserved for one lucky family each day that is chosen at random to be the grand marshalls of the MK parade and then taken on a tour of the facilities, fed a great meal at Cinderella's Table and then led to the fantastic bedroom in the castle?

at one point during 100 years of magic or the 50th anniversary of Disneyland when they added all those gold characters on the castle it was... im not sure if they do it anymore though...

there are photos out there of the interior though...

During a majority of the YOAMD, one lucky person and their family (they had to be at the right time and place, chosen by by computer) got a one night stay in the castle. It was pretty restricted though - you couldn't wander around at all after hours. You had a concierge you could ask to get you things.

I'm not sure that happened all the way to the end of YOAMD.

After it ended, the suite has only been used sparingly, mostly for contest winners.

I have not heard of that being done since YOAMD ended.

I remember when we were there during YOAMD with our 3 kiddos in July of '07. We started our first morning at MK, and as we were gettin' to the back side of Town Square, we noticed some Dream Team members with a family and ALOT of emotion goin' on. Turned out the family had just been chosen for the Cinderella Castle Suite! Some pictures were taken, too, and then they were lead off somewhere to finish up with the details, I guess...
We couldn't help thinkin'... "Good golly gosh!!!

I can't remember where I read that but it is knda sad that they don't do that any more. What a cool thing for some lucky family to have.

After seein' the "What is your favorite park moment thread?" I just remembered what I meant, and forgot, to add to my last post...

We actually did win a YOAMD prize while we were there on the above mentioned trip!

We were walkin' into The Imagination Pavilion when we were stopped by the CM's. We were given wrist bands and buttons for a 2-hour dance and ride party after regular Future World hours that night.
They were givin' out 2000, but said that they usually only averaged about 800 (looked like about how many actually showed up, too) or so due to only parts of groups gettin' 'em and not wantin' to show up and leave out the others, and ADR's, and such.
We had a BLAST! Dance party with characters was funnnnnn, and we walked onto Soarin' and all of our favs and did them all at least twice!

Like I said earlier...it is used sparingly, mostly for contests.
