Standard View Room or Deluxe?
Has anyone ever decided to go with a room with a view?
I always decline that option and save the $200 or so bucks. Wouldn't you?
I mean who looks out there window and says cool the pool, lets stand her and watch! (I'm either in the pool or in bed) who's pulling up a rocking chair doing people watching?
Last year they upgraded us for free, and everytime we went back to our room we had to close the curtains because the Mousekeeper kept opening them. we were on the 1st floor and everyone was walking past our room with the pool right there. I say I'm glad they don't charge more for a private, quiet room facing the parking lot LOL

Re: Standard View Room or Deluxe?
I agree. We spend so little time in our hotel or vacation room, I wouldn't spend extra on the upgrades. Even for a vacation home, we just need a pool and bedrooms and don't upgrade for a game room. The kids can play games at home. At WDW, we are there to tour.

Re: Standard View Room or Deluxe?
The only time I will ask for a nice view is for my Honeymoon because we'll be spending a lot of time in the room, and I want to look at something prettier than a parking lot. It just feels more romantic, and that will be the time to splurge!

Re: Standard View Room or Deluxe?
how much time do you really spend in the room whilst on a WDW vacation...? if your answer is enough to spend money on your view... then you are missing out on something in the parks that you desperately need to see...

Re: Standard View Room or Deluxe?
I could think of other things to be doing in the room on a honeymoon, rather then looking out a window

Re: Standard View Room or Deluxe?
We always request a boardwalk view when we stay at the boardwalk. The view is great and you feel like you are part of the action. Every trip to WDW with my wife is like a second honeymoon.

Re: Standard View Room or Deluxe?
The only place I am willing to pay for a view is AKL. I love seeing the animals. Otherwise it's not worth it to me.
