I wouldn't worry about someone breaking into your car because Disney has security everywhere. Nobody will try to break into anything.

Unfortunately, that's not true. People have had their car broken into at Disney

Re: Carrying at Disney

Crime exists every where. Disney does what is can but there's no way to avoid it. Those lots are huge and there just aren't enough bodies out there watching things. Plus think of the mindset people have while at Disney. We love it, it's Magical, it's Special and to most of us it is home. Don't we all feel safer at home and are a little less on edge at home?

Car break ins are a low risk/possibly high reward crime. GPS units, CD players, DVD Players, money, credit cards, personal ID information and yes sometimes firearms are all out there for the taking. Plus how many people would think twice about seeing someone digging in a car looking for something?

Re: Carrying at Disney

Here's one for y'all...
I was just at The Disney Store a little while ago to pick up my paycheck. There was another CM there doin' same. She was tellin' us that she had just, a coupla' days ago, had her wallet with DL, credit cards, and such, and car keys, stolen. I asked her where from, and she said "Out of my car, we left it unlocked."
Turns out, they left the car unlocked and she left her wallet AND keys in the glove compartment! Got stolen, huh? Well, bleepin' Duh!!!!!
Off-the-charts BEYOND amazing they didn't steal the flippin' car, too!!!!!

Re: Carrying at Disney

My son checked out of Disney Housing for the college program a few days early since he had to be back at school prior to the program ending. Housing has a security guard at entrance nobody gets in without an ID badge or escort. Patrol security. The night of checkout, kids mourning the end and partying with fellow CM's they likely will never see again. Countless apartments were robbed, TV's, computers, electronics etc.
Now tell me how that happens? Glad my kid left a few days early.

Now guns on property I've changed my mind through the years. I have a healthy fear and respect of guns. I've seen too many college shootings with sworn police officers on campus. Many students gone before police/security get there and police do arrive quickly. My thoughts have gone to a few people, concealed weapons would have taken these nuts out before they could continue their rampage. The nutty don't care about rules and laws. College classrooms just not that different from an attraction at Disney. My gut says a few guests, knowing what they are doing, carrying not necessarily a bad thought. There has to be many police officer-guests at Disney daily. We look at Disney warmly and think we are always going to be safe, pray we will, but anything can happen anywhere. Guessing in a horrible situation I wouldn't care if it was a guest-police officer or Disney-security that saved my family.
