Phones not working in Disney?

I was in the magic kingdom yesterday, and was excited about tweeting pictures and such from the park, I had full service, but my phone just would not work.. (I have the EVO 4G by sprint.) my parents have the same phone, and it didn't work for them either, yet it said we had full service.. just wondering if this happens to anyone else?

When I went in June my phone worked fine but I didn't have that much service and when I did have it, it was like one bars but that is normal for ATT.

I have Verizon and our phones worked great. It's how we stayed in touch on our last trip and gave up on the little two way radios because the channels were so congested they were hard to hear everyone.

Disney uses an extensive repeater system (which is why you don't see towers on property), but it is possible that although you had signal the system was hitting capacity at the time.

I've never noticed a problem with my Verizon phone, but I also didn't use it extensively while in the parks. May be different with my Droid though...

i have used my phones in the park.. but when i was at seaworld waiting in line for manta.. i didnt have a signal

We actually had that problem last time we were there where the phone wouldn't work to phone the taxi. I had put it down to the fact our phones were irish mobiles but maybe it's not that then... Are there pay phones in the parks then if we want to ring a taxi to get to the hotel?

I have a Version and it works great in the parks, resorts and DTD.

i have AT&T and there were no problems while i was down there...

My daughter had a problem with her Virgin Mobile / Sprint phone this weekend at home in NC. Text messages were very slow in sending and receiving. I think it was probably their server.
