Mad Tea Party closed for refurb.

So I just read: Mad Tea Party will be closed for refurbishment September 26 to November 10.

How true do they stick to the dates? If they finish early will they reopen it early, like Nov 9th or something? just wondering because we are leaving the 10th and my daughter is so looking forward to riding it with Mom again

Also, is Main Street still being worked on? I know a couple months ago someone had some pics of Main Street with "painted buildings" in front of the actual buildings because of refurbs to buildings on Main Street.

I want to sat that if they finish early they will reopen the ride early. It seems like that happened for us one year when Space Ranger Spin closed for a refurb. As for MAin Street we were there Sept. 18 and at that time there was still some work going on around Casey's Corner I believe but I can't remember if it was anywhere else. Have a fun time!

Anything posted here would just be conjecture. It's up to Disney how the refurb goes. Best to just keep your fingers crossed.

it generally is pretty close give or take a few days for rides... facades are different entirely though...

A lot of walls were up around Tea Party and the painted curtains were still up around Main Street on Oct.1.

They're going to add lasers, 3D teacups, a hip-hop soundtrack, cup-holders, and Pixar characters.

And a gift shop at the exit. And entrance.

They are also adding a second level to the teacups.

And shoulder harnesses and lap belts.

Only the teacups are going to spin, not the platform itself.

Just read on the official Disney Parks blog: The economy has gotten worse and budget cuts are in strict effect. New refurbishment will have the building spin, but the tea cups will remain stationery.

In all seriousness, unless they know at least two weeks ahead of time they will be able to open early, they will will just open on the previously announced day as they have to post position schedules, etc.
