    Smells of Spaceship Earth

    I have looked on here and through the podcasts, and this may have been addressed and if so I apologize, but here goes. I rode SE several times over this past weekend and have a question about the garage scene. I know the burning wood smell is piped in the burning Rome scene. I noticed a strong "garage" smell as we went through the garage scene, so I wondered if it just comes from the car and the other stuff in the garage, or if they actually pipe in the smell. I actually thought I was imagining it, but I noticed it each time and my husband did also.

    They will be artificial and piped in as opposed to the real deal, at least going by other attractions.

    i dont know.. but i smelled like bearing grease through the whole thing.. and it made me sicker than i already was just coming off of mission space..lol

    I would imagine it is piped in because the car prop is probably drained of all fluids.

    i dont know.. but it is very strong.. i mentioned it to my hubby and he was like maybe they had greased the tracks.. it smelled like hot hydraulic fluid or something.. i was already sick to my stomach and it made it worse.. i was looking over the edge of the car because i was scared i would get sick...lol

    The smell didn't really bother me; I just thought it was interesting because it became strong through there and I wondered if it was intentional.

    What I've learned with Disney.. if there is a strong smell within a ride it is usually intentional!
