WDW's 40th Anniversary

So this year marks the 40th anniversary of WDW. Any idea what we have to look forward to as a celebration? I am already booking a trip for Sept 26th-Oct 3rd just so I can be there for any special event. Any one hear any rumours?

They haven't announced anything, and I believe previously they said that they weren't going to treat the 40th as anything special.

Well I hope Lou plans his Meet of the Month that weekend...it's also the start of Foor and Wine.

Nothing at all. Celebrations like this usually start mid-year the year prior and last through the end of the next year. So we would have seen something already from around September. Unfortunately, the marketing department missed that on the calendar and were already in full swing with their "What Will You Celebrate" campaign. Maybe they'll mix it up a a bit and introduce something mid-year this year. Otherwise, see you in ten years.

It's early and I'm sure they will be doing something. They already have ornaments, snow globes, shirts etc. at the parks commemorating 40 years, so I find it hard to believe they will not do something.
