If you do split between Pop and the AKL, do the AKL last. That way it won't be a big "let down" when you switch.![]()
My girlfriend and I are planning on visiting WDW in the beginning on January for the marathon. We are currently planning on arriving in WDW in the early afternoon on January 5th and leaving WDW the 13th. We are planning on staying at Pop for the majority of our trip, but we would like to stay at AKL for two nights. We are currently thinking the last two days instead of the first two days because we are running the 1/2 Marathon and we don't want to bother with any hassle that may ensue with a transfer.
I know Lou and Becky had addressed this in an older podcast but I cannot for the life of me remember when.
How do I go about doing this and is it a relatively seamless process?
Thanks!

We did a split stay between AKV (Jambo 2BR) and Port Orleans Riverside back in 2009. tiggerguy is right - it would be a letdown going from AKL to POP
You can arrange with Bell Services to get your bags transported to the new resort. We preferred to do it ourselves via car...

Just let Bell Sercices know and they will take care of your bags. It is a rather seamless process. Don't worry about doing AKL first, each resort (no matter its price category) is unique and has a lot to offer. Have a great trip!!

I'd say go for it. We've talked about it but have not done it yet. I think it would be neat staying at two resorts, as long as you stay at your favorite one last.

I think we are going to do it...now we just have to wait until august to book. Does anybody know the date that rates will be released? I know it is usually in august but I don't know when in august.
