Has anyone been on the updated Star Wars ride? What have they actually updated?
Is the doughnut head lady still on the pre ride video? (my dad is desperate to know that!)

Star Tours now has 4 different "scenes" that are interchangeable so you're rarely going to experience the same ride in it's entirety twice. I rode it 4 times last week and while some of the 4 scenes were the same, I never saw the same whole 4 scenes together.
Some of the scenes also make the ride jerk you around more. I found myself getting a little woozy after the scene in which the ship crashes into the snow but was fine during the other ones.
This is the new safety instruction/pre-ride host:

The "updated" ride is GREAT! Different sequences and ride patterns, each ride will be different!! It does seem more smooth a simulator ride, not as jerky as before, but you definatly do get jostled around some!! It was so much fun though!!
I love the new ride! I've gotten all the different segments now, and could ride all day. The 3D is great
the ride is a "complete" overhaul... although... anyone notice the bantering between 3PO and R2D2 in the queue is almost identical...?
Star Tours 2.0 is a BLAST!!!
The 3D effects and the new story lines only make the ride seem rougher than before.
As for the new queue, be sure to stop and listen to the baggage-scanning droid, he's a hoot and a half, lots and lots of in-jokes! Also the thermal imaging droid at the top of the ramp and the shadows of passengers passing by the window on the upper level!
Wow, sounds great although anything would be an improvement, much as i loved the old ride it was screaming for an update.
I will miss the doughnut head lady though...

Another little detail I love about this ride is during the pre-ride safety video. The woman who's sat in the second row with her young son (who's naughty and scaring the ewoks) is the lady who used to do the safety spiel on the original version of the ride. I can't remember where I heard that (possibly Destination D??), but think it's pretty neat.
