Muppet Store?

Can anyone give me some information on what I thought was a store opening in DTD a couple years back where you can build your own Muppet? I think it started at a store in NY as well....(and if memory serves from posts I had read the cost was around $100)

We were just wondering if one ever did open and if it was still down in the World?

You're probably thinking of the Muppet Whatnot Workshop that's located in the F.A.O Schwarz toy store on 5th Avenue in New York City.
That is the only location and a search on the Internet turned some references to one being built in DHS but nothing has come of it so far. The cost seems to vary between $100 and $130

Toys R Us carries a line of FAO stuff including a limited selection of the base muppets, accessories and clothing for them. You can't get them on WDW property yet but I too have heard the rumor the PP mentioned re: them coming to the shop over by Muppetvision at DHS (though have never seen anything official on it).

thanks, I definitely remember it being talked about Downtown Disney back in 2009, I don't think it had anything to do with the actual Muppets ( as we know them ).. thats why they decided there instead of DHS. However, it was FAO like you said in NY. but maybe with the resurgence of the Muppets with the new movie ... something added to the Muppet Store in DHS would be great. U always said that store needed a makeover and more merchandise. And a character meet & greet would be cool.

There was definitely a rumor of the Muppet Whatnot shop being added to the Stage One Company store... Since the. We havent heard anything again... Almost like a waitin game...

There was some sort of unspecific announcement that Disney Parks would get a Whatnot Workshop, but they never said where - then when Stage 1 was getting some work done, everyone started saying it was for the Whatnot Workshop - but turned out to just be a floor tile replacement.

To date, as far as I know Disney Parks has never, ever mentioned it again.

Yeh Doc that's what I had heard... I just assumed that Stage One would be the logical place... This is odd... The place that probably would guarantee major sales in Muppet Whatnots and they don't even follow through with the shop... I mean seriously... Disneyworld or FAO Schwartz... Which do you think would sell more Muppets in a fiscal year...?
