Hollywood Brown Derby's Bamboo Room
I am reading the "Imagineering Field Guide to Disney's Hollywood Studios". They were talking about the Hollywood Brown Derby's Bamboo Room and mentioned that they had a program since 2003 where a guest can have lunch with and Imagineer. Does anyone know if this is still going on or if you can talk to an Imagineer anywhere else?

Thanks! That's exciting. The only thing is that I'm a picky eater and the food is really fancy but I guess its only the best for the Imagineers.

Just wanted to say that my family did this a couple of years ago and I definitely recommend it. Steven Grant was our Imagineer and he was great. He is the principal project architect for WDW and the project he completed at the time was the American Idol attraction. We had a great time with him and at the end he signed a collectable plate for each of us.

Thanks. That sounds great and the plate would be cool.

We did a similar experience at Sanaa; it was lunch with an animal keeper. Since our animal keeper was being observed that day, we actually had lunch with two animal keepers. It was very informative, casual, and personal. We really learned a lot that day, and as a bonus, got to meet a tortoise! And, it was a great value since the experience was not much more than lunch at Sanaa would have cost anyways.
Oh, and don't worry about the picky eating. Our lunch came with a set menu, but, with a daughter who only eats about exotic as Ramen noodles, I knew that wouldn't work for us. Luckily, Disney, as usual, was very accommodating, and the chef fixed her a hamburger. If there is nothing you like, you can always ask for something more standard, and they are usually more than willing to provide alternatives.
Based on my animal keeper experience, I really want to try the lunch with an imagineer and would recommend either of these neat experiences!
