    Pin Number

We received a pin number from Disney which is good for special vacation pricing. Does it provide any better value than the room discounts Disney offers throughout the year. We went a few years ago and I don't think the pin we had then gave any better discount. Are there any other perks from the pin number?

Wow, I've never gotten a PIN and you got two?? That's OUTRAGEOUS!

Congrats on it. Call WDW Reservations and ask. Never hurts.

I believe you misunderstood his question. You're talking about a PIN. He's clearly asking about a PIN number.

For the record, most of the pin numbers Disney distributes can be used at any of the ATM machines on property.

    Uhhhh...?

For the OP...as there can be several available discounts at any given time, it can depend on what exactly you want (room only, package, dining plan, etc.), and what the PIN code is good for. I think in general it _can_ be better that typical public offers, as long as it provides what you want.

I've never received a PIN code in the mail. But when I call to book a room, I mention that I'm a DVC member, passholder, blah, blah, and ask if there are are any discounts, PIN codes on my account, etc. Then we figure out the best deal from there. Turns out one time I did have a PIN that got me a value room for a couple days for a bit less than I could have gotten otherwise.

    Re: Pin Number

Actually the pin number isn't referring to ATM use. It's a special number (not a phone number) to use when booking Disney vacations. You get them at random in the mail. They have something to do with room and ticket discounts. I'm trying to find out if they are better discounts than Disney's regular promotions. I will probably call them and then post what I have found out to this thread.

    Re: Pin Number

A few years back I got a pin to upgrade from a moderate rate to Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom for the 4th of July weekend. It came on an oversized postcard with tight time restrictions. The promo worked, we went.

    Re: Pin Number

Here, allow me to throw folks a bone.

It's not a personal identification number number.

Nor is there an automatic teller machine machine.

ODD caught it before I saw the thread.

And I'm not kidding when I say a couple of years ago the little card machine I used at a gas station actually showed on the screen "please enter your PIN number".

    Re: Pin Number

Frankly, I'm not even sure why they are called PIN codes anyways. They are just discount codes.

    Re: Pin Number

Right. I don't know if the PINs we receive actually "identifies" us. If it's actually dedicated and they know who I am when I give it, then it's truly a PIN.
