Pal Mickey?
I go to the park often (three times in the past five months) and I have always wondered if the benefits of Pal Mickey was worth the 65$ price tag? Can enyone give me any examples of what the plush do when you take him home or what great things he does in the park other than tell you that Captain Hook is by Pirates of the Carribean?

He gives you all sorts of trivia about various areas of the parks. He'll play various games with you and also tell you jokes related to your specific area in the park. For example, he'll tell a ghost joke near the HM,an astronaut joke in Future World, etc. He doesn't seem to shut up for very long in the Animal Kingdom because of all of the detail there.
Whether he is "worth" the $65 price tag is up to you.

I got it when they first came out and love him! I still take him to the parks now and then and always when family visits.
As Amanda mentioned, he goes off very often in AK (that is where they tested him)
The current version is the HCOE one with gold tux.

Does Pal Mickey have an off switch or does he have to be on all the time?
Also does he get anoying to carry around or listen to?
-
And can you change the batteries or does it just die after a certain point?

He has an on/off switch and you can change the batteries.
They call me "Nana"

Wondering if they do updates to him, like something that would download when you enter the park or something? I was thinking of getting one last time I was there, but just didn't have the $$$ to do it.
Nothing to countdown to, so just smile and be happy everyday!

That's a good question Lara...I have wondered the same thing. I would definitely consider getting one if download updates were available to keep him fresh and new!

While in the parks, he receives his messages from transmitters around the park, so he'll be 'updated' as often as those messages are. You can also take him to the major purchase points in each park and they can 'download' an update.
The at-home games are not updated as far as I know.

Yeah guys I rented Pal Mickey on the last years trip and was told that you could bring him back to the Parks and they would update him for you not sure about do it yourself downloads. To bad you can't rent him anymore. I just don't see buying two of them because that what I would have to do if I was to outright buy him.

My honest opinion I say not to buy and bring him home. But when they had the option to rent him and get your deposit back he was well worth it. He didn't quite work that well when we had him. He was still fairly new so now I'm not sure. But like I said in my earlier post I would have to buy two and I don't want to dish out that kinda of cash so he can end up with the rest of the stuff animals in my house

They don't rent him anymore? I wasn't aware of that....
-
They stopped renting him last year or earlier this year.

I think I would rather spend $15 on the WDW Trivia Book, and then $15 on a normal plush Mickey.
If we can dream it, we can do it
