Main Street U.S.A. : Then and now

Hi all,



I'm researcing a little article I'm writing and trying to see if anyone here's memory is better than mine, in late 2001 the Emporium annex opened on the former site of West center Street. At the time there was a web site out there somewhere, that put up a nice photo essy of the place, but better than that, they included the backstory, not only for this new shop but some of the other shops on Main as well. In this back story the new section openend in 1900, and the other buildings on Main were older. I would imagine that the information may have come from some kind of WDW press release, I've tried several google searches but apparently haven't chosen the right terms to track this story down.

Thanks to Tiggerguy I refined my searches a bit more, he pointed out that 1901 was the (backstory) opening date of the new annex. Still no luck, I'm thinking that this must be a story that has since been removed from the internet, if I knew the original site it was posted on I might be able to track it down using the wayback machine:
