I don't know about the buses but Welcome to the site!!!!!!!!!!
I just got back from a week vacation..... I was impressed with how fast the buses move to and from all the resorts and parks. It seemed as though there were 10 buses at every destination. When I asked one of the drivers how many buses Disney owned- he said like 210. I thought that was a low number. Does anyone know?

Keep on babbeling
I adore the busses at WDW. They're also fertile meeting grounds lol.
I always meet new people and try to talk to lots of new folks on the busses. I, personally, don't think 210 is a low number for busses. Keep in mind how big the actual property is. I think it's a perfect number.
I think that'd about right for the busses. That's a lot if you think about it. It means each hotel has at least 2 if not more. :-)

From www.wdwnews.com: Walt Disney World transportation includes a fleet of more than 200 motor coaches, with routes connecting all Walt Disney World-operated hotels with other areas of the resort. The Walt Disney World monorail system and boats are other modes of passenger transit on Walt Disney World property.

I talked to a driver one night and He told Me that they just shift the buses around depending on closing times and event schedules for the parks, if there is a backup somewhere, dispatch moves less busy drivers around to take up the load.

You think the number is low, but then think about the other ways that you can get to and fro in the world...Walking, Ferry boat, Monorail...So if you count all the boats and monorails, and think about how many people can walk to a park from the boardwalk loop (to mgm or epcot)
We used the buses all the time and met some great people, particularly some of the drivers! We came back from Epcot one afternoon and were the only people on the bus! The driver, Sandy, was from Florida and was so enthusiastic about her home state and WDW and chatted away to us like we were old friends.
The buses are a great and efficient way of moving about between the parks and resorts. And, yes, we too have always found the drivers very friendly.
So, in honor of the Disney buses:

I like the newer busses. They dont have as much exhaust. Which is good when your in thr FW Campground and behind one in a golf cart!
