    Peter Pan's Flight Question

Here's one for the memory banks:

My brother just returned from his honeymoon - his first visit to WDW since 1984. He insists that he remembers Peter Pan's Flight as having ships with no floors, or some variation of the ride vehicle where your feet would dangle. He thought he remembered being afraid he might lose his shoes, and that there were sneakers dropped in London.

Anybody know if he's right? I don't personally remember any such thing, and I would have been there with him on the two trips we took as kids.

    Thanks!

The ships fly through the air because they are sprinkled with pixie dust (actually they are suspended overhead, but I like my version better). There is a floor to the ships, no danger of losing your shoes! However, a child might be afraid that would happen! I hope your brother will go on Peter Pan's Flight for old times sake! It is one of my favorite rides!

As far as I remember, PPF has always had a floor.

Perhaps as a child his feet did not reach to the floor of the ride vehicle when he first rode it, giving him the impression at that time that there was no floor and that impression has just stuck with him.

That's what I thought, but I figured I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and run it by the experts before telling him 'I told you so!'

He did ride it again last week, so all fears have been put to rest.
    Thanks for the backup!

There is a floor, unless his father was dangling him over the side of the boat

You know, I'm sure my father probably considered dropping him over the side. He was a real pain in the you-know-what on those trips. He got to see more chicken exits than anybody I know (including making them stop the Haunted Mansion to get him off through a backstage door. OK, so he was only 4, but it left quite an impression on him. It took 27 years before he was brave enough to ride it all the way through.)
Nowadays, even though he is my 'little' brother, he's quite a bit bigger than I am. If he ever reads these posts, I'M going to be the one dangled over the side!

I bet the cast members working that ride have seen it happen, though. There are an awful lot of stupid guests out there.
