I grimaced while reading this one...how did that even happen? At first I thought it was a coaster where you sit under the track but this is a Tower ride.

That poor girl...I hope she is okay....

Towards the story, I truly don't know what to think right now...

i think they are saying a cable snapped and whipped across her legs....I just can't imagine - i hope they were able to get her to help quickly enough that she could have them re-attached.

Yikes. My mom told me about that today. I don't know if she read something different but she said the girl had to get her legs amputated. That is so horrible. Can you imagine? Getting on a ride for a few minutes of fun and getting off, not being able to walk ever again? I wonder when exactly they were taken off? If it was near the beginning, that must have been one painful ride.

Well, the article really doesn't explain much about the accident. There is a ride similar to this at 6 Flags in Atlanta. At least from the way it is described. So I am trying to figure out how someone could lose their feet on the ride?
I do hope that the girl is ok - that is so scary.

But, one thing to keep in mind, you are never 100% safe and you have to keep your own safety in mind. These are the reasons that Disney has rules about height and they explain that if you have back problems...etc, you should not ride.

According to what I gather here in Orlando in all the papers, The ride is a tower ride as we all know, it takes the rider to the top and drops them at about 50 mph then SLOWS down to a stop. They are saying the ride went up and down as planned but coming down the cable snapped, and fell to the ground (and as for me, I would think these cables are pretty thick in diameter) slicing the little girls feet on the way down, as she was already at the bottom. If anyone heard different let me know. Thanks

We used to live in Kentucky and went to this park many, many times. If this is the ride I'm thinking of (directly in front of you when you enter the park) they've changed the name. Otherwise, they must have built it in the last two years. If it is the one near the entrance, myself, my husband, many of my friends, and almost every member of the youth group we used to take there every year, have ridden it. It makes me sick to even think about this.

I tried to check the website to see if it was the older ride or a brand new one, but it seems they have removed it from the website.

Update: This is the original ride with a new name.

That explains why I was having such a hard time finding the ride on their website.
