If You Had a Couple Hours...
We decided on this trip to, instead of spending all 4 of our full days in the parks, spend 3 and take the 4th to do other non-park stuff on property. On this day, we've booked our son to participate in the Pirate Adventure that sails from the Grand Floridian Marina at 9:30am.
So here's where we are now... it has been 4 years since we had any time to ourselves while on property (except for the one time we got a sitter and did Disney Quest). I'm looking for suggestions. Part of me thinks "go back to the resort and sleep... you'll be exhausted after 3 days in the parks with 3 children" but there's probably a way we could better spend our little chunk of time. Thoughts/Suggestions??

Have a late breckfast at a resort close by like chef mickeys lol. Or explore some of the resorts a bit more. Ride the monorail around a bit.

Head over to the Poly and have breakfast at Kona and get some Tonga toast, then maybe take a walk along the beach area, have a nice stroll back to the Grand Floridian.

This. For sure. If you have extra time then you could also walk around the contemporary and/or wilderness lodge since they're close by. We did this on our last day and it was great (and MMM tonga toast!)

My wife and I's favorite thing to do alone is to spend the afternoon at World Showcase. We have spent many a romantic afternoon grazing at almost all of the counter service (or better yet during food an wine) restaurants getting appitizers and sampling some of the beverages the countries have to offer. We have even combined enjoying the afternoon at World Showcase with doing the Kim Possible Adventure to add a little sense of urgency and fun.

When we were there on our honeymoon, my husband and I went around to several of the different resorts. Not just the deluxe ones, but also the moderate level. That was very interesting and helped us make a decision of where we wanted to stay the next time we made the trip (this October!!!). Another fun thing to do, if you have never experienced it, was take the monorail from the TTC to EPCOT and back. It's a longer ride than the express or the resort line and just gave you a view of the surrounding area. Enjoy your day off!

Thanks so much for the feedback! I like the beach idea and it's especially fitting since we have to drop our kiddo off at the Grand Floridian's Marina. Once he takes off we can have some "us" time and walk on the sand. He's never been in the GF either so we can walk around inside there and look at the birdies.
Is there a place for breakfast at the GF?

May I suggest Downtown Disney? During the mid-morning, the crowd levels are very light and make for leisurely sightseeing and shopping.
Re: If You Had a Couple Hours...
Great suggestion but we work DTD into our arrival day. We arrive, check in and then spend the rest of the day/evening there. So, by the date of our little bit o' freedom, we'll be DTD'd out. LOL!

What about the spa at GF or do you golf, a round with your wife at any of the courses would be a great use of your time.
