Looks great fun. Did you have to make a reservation in advance for it?

We camp off the river so reservations weren't needed. The parking lot was a 5 minute canoe ride from where we camped. If you want to camp by your vehicle then reservations are a good idea if you go when it's busy.

Here's our camp.

A proper adventure, and not a merchandising cart in sight!

Not entirely true: The trading post sold preserved alligator heads, t-shirts, hats, etc.

But not, I would imagine, pins and timeshares.
Is it socially-acceptable to secretly want one of those gator heads? My father had a preserved Piranha and it terrified me as a kid, but those gator heads have always seemed cool. Anyone on here got one?

True, no pins nor timeshares.
I would have bought a small one if it was cheaper. I like creepy stuff.

This alligator still had his head.

Not if the Good Ol' Boys with the shotguns have a say he won't.

I saw 4 gators on my trip. They were about 3/4 of a mile from where we camp. They seem to like the deep water. We also saw an otter. Lots of fun.

Looks like a nice place.
