To do list outsite the parks
Hello everyone and greetings from London/UK (though I'm German ;-))
After having worked at World Showcase from 2007 - 2008 I am most likely finally going to make it back to my "home" this summer with a friend and we're both super excited!!!
So we like the parks and everything but I'm creating a to do list for the two of with stuff that we want to do outside the parks to **** it all in and see most of the great things to do at WDW.
For example:
- Yeehaw Bob
- Dinner at Ohana and watch fireworks from the beach
- Lunch at Sanaa at lunch, especially with view on the savannah
- beaches and cream and cinema at the beach after
- hoop de doo
- late night snack at the casparilla grill at the grand floridian
- stroll the boardwalk area
do you guys have any more suggestions for our to do list? As you can see, most of our planned activities are free and we like it that way ;) though we dont minding spending a few bucks or even a little more if its something really great (like hoop de doo). We're also open to suggestions regarding certain meal experiences due to a special view or something like that (like sanaa as posted above). I hope you guys know what I mean?
Of course the main goal is to just really enjoy ourselves but we just want to have the feeling that we haven't only done the standard stuff to do, which is why I'm looking for certain "special" things, like requesting specific seats at some restaurants, take in the free activities that most of the first time visitors aren't aware of etc.
looking forward to your suggestion!
all the best from the other side of the big pond,
Max
Re: To do list outsite the parks
Welcome, looks like a great to do list.
Re: To do list outsite the parks
any further recommendations? :-)
Think I'm going to add the following to my list:
- Backstage tour (which one would you recommend?)
- drinking around the world
Re: To do list outsite the parks
I would suggest a meal at Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Get there early and have a look at the animals first.
Re: To do list outsite the parks
-Spend time at the Boardwalk when the lights have come on
-watch the Electrical Water Pageant at one of the MK resorts
-shop/eat at Downtown Disney
-enjoy a drink/swim at the hotel pool
-check out some of the resorts you've always wanted to stay in!
These are just some things we always try to build into our "days-outside-of-the-parks" during our longer trips!
Re: To do list outsite the parks
As mentioned above, resort hop!
Re: To do list outsite the parks
I haven't really explored it, but I hear the campground has some great activities - campfire sing-a-long, carriage ride, etc. - which might be good to take in when you do Hop-de-doo.
Also, we made smores on the beach outside of Yacht Club. Awesome! :D
Re: To do list outsite the parks
We have camped at FW -- the BEST thing is to rent a golf cart and drive around looking at the holiday decorations!
... also roasting marshmallows with CHip and Dale then watch outdoor movie at FW
We also take Christmas and gingerbread display tours to each hotel during Christmas...
Jellyrolls at the Boardwalk --- do the Tree Dance!

Not sure what size of city you are from, but I find one of the cheapest and very fun thing to do is buy a trolley pass and ride up and down International drive.
