gifts to CMs

If I wanted too could I bring a gift to a CM.

Like if I wanted to bring Peter Pan a thimble (a kiss) could I or would they tell me that they cant get gifts?


I really want to know this cause I really want to bring Peter Pan a thimble (I think it will be cute/funny)

I was a cast member in 2003 and, assuming the rules haven't changed, cast members are not allowed to accept gifts or tips. The policy is for the cast member to politely refuse 3 times and if the guest insists then they take it and donate it. I had that happen one time, a guest wanted to tip me for helping him find a jasmine costume for his daughter and even after refusing 3 times he insisted so I took it and gave it my manager.

If you wanted to give a gift to a cast member, find one that has gone TRULY above and beyond and then stop by guest relations and fill out a comment card (they have a fancier name, I cant remember off the top of my head). Those actually speak volumes and are very well respected.

i was a international CM in 2008 to 2009 and now i'm working in imagineering. i really depends if they are merch or f and b coz i was f and b and i could take gifts and tips. you could bring it to imagineering and ill take it for myself if they cant . what a nice person you are coz i never get gifts good luck

From what I remember, the answer is no, CM's aren't allowed to accept gifts. However, I don't see any harm in accepting a thank you card or in your case, a thimble. As mentioned in a couple posts above, what we CM's really appreciate is if you head over to Guest Relations with our name and location, and fill out one of those CM appreciation cards, we do get those in the end, and Disney also recognizes that we've done a great job.

but If I really liked a Peter Pan than how do I fill out a card? they cant tell you there real name and theres like 30 people to play Peter Pan.

and even something as small as a thimble I cant give? thats so upsetting.
I really wanted to give him a thimble.

You could say what time you've seen Peter Pan and where, and they'll track him down for you

Characters are different then other CMs. They are allowed to accept small gifts from guests. I know Pooh Bear received honey several times when I worked with him. And Mickey and Minnie received small gifts from Asian guests (they were so happy to get the gifts). And there are other instances, I just can't remember them.

Does this mean when I was working at the Jungle Cruise under my Pygmy character, I could have accepted all those Dole whip floats offered to me by the lovely people who went out of their way and got me a dole whip float when they came back and visited me again after I had begged and pleaded?
