God I Love Free Food!
WHOOOOOO HOOOOO
Got off the phone with CRO a while ago and upgraded my ressie to add the free dining. ****VIX does the little happy dance. I even mananged to snag a free fridge thru a swap from another site the time I am there. Now the only question remains whether we should spring for the AP's or not. Eh got time on that one.
Only difference was I had to pay the rack rate instead of the discount...only $100 bucks more and we are still 250-450$ coming out ahead if I would have paid for the DDP or OOP.
***Vix goes off into her corner and does some more happy dance
SEE y'all there Sept 11-15
Who's meeting me for the Flag retreat.?

Thank you Rain. OOP is out of pocket.
Sorry I am excited and too lazy to type long words. LOL
I just lucked out on the fridge late last nite on another posting site where they have swaps for stuff like that. Most of them run $10 bucks for the week(with the money going to pay back whoever paid for the fridge initially, but one lady was nice enuf to donate a brand new one for a swap and not want her money back on it starting in May. Look over at the boards that rhyme with" WIS-hoards." and do a search under their budget boards for free swap for POP Century..(you have to be staying there on the right days that are open to participate) I didnt want to pay for one at $10 a day thru Disney and was wary of shelling out cash to somone I didnt know to save.money.
Alternative is to pick up a cheap plastic cooler once you get there if you are flying. (like at a local Wally World or grocery) and just fill it with ice from the machines. If you dont want to drag it home, give it to someone checking in when you check out.
Good luck Chrissy.
I think I may trade some of my bank points in for some $25 bucks in gas. Every little bit helps.

Yipee! Free food for me too. I called this morning and was on hold forever. Now have ressies at Pop Century from 9/22 - 10/2 . I had to forego the AP room only discount and add a 1day/1 park pass for each one of us in the room. Since I have an AP, my friend will use all three days. But, 10 days x 3 people = a whole bunch of saved $$ and some really great meals!

What time did you call Gal? From what I understand the resrvations system went down around 10 or so. LOL I was on the phone at 7 this morning. The things I will do for free food. LOL

I called about 8:30 CST. It was crazy - I was on hold for a long time (thank goodness for wireless headsets). Then, once the CM applied the code, the system took a long time to come back with a confirmation and adjusted total. So, I'm not surprised the system went down. Seems like it was headed for a crash even when I called. It was worth it though. Saved me a bundle! All the ADRs are made - except the Dining With An Imagineer which can only be reserved 90 days out.
Now, I wait for the Food & Wine Festival special events tickets to become available. I'm determined to go to the Party For The Senses and Sweet Sunday this year!

Travel dates must be between Aug. 26 and Sept 22. The chances of you getting free dining during Halloween week are as slim as Hades having Pain and Panic running out to get him an ice water.LOL
They do the free dining during Sept because it is a slow time of the year for travel with all the kids back in school and such. It is an incentive to get you to travel at that time. Plus it is right at the peak of hurricane season... I can handle a little rain for free food. LOL

the only way to not be charged for a fridge is if you need it for medical reasons (keeping medications cold like insulin and whatnot). i've known people in the past to lie to get one (not that i'm accusing you of anything!!! i promise!!) but especially at a place like disney i wouldn't do this because they have every right to ask to see the prescription as proof. we had one free for my dad's insulin and they are tiny. i honestly think you're better off getting a cheap styrofoam cooler and filling it with ice. you can get the size you want and keep as much as you need in it.

okie dokie,,,, thanks... i believe last time my father in law had a big cooler with cokes and stuff in it.. so i might just do that
