Yak And Yeti???
Does anyone know when the new restaurant is due to open?
Has there been any rumors. news, hearsay, jabberwockie on the subject???
Also, does anyone know if there are any photos of the joint out yet??
Maybe some info on the possible menu offerings???
I get a little too excited about these new restaurants...they are about as exciting for me as a new attraction...
Here's a link to the pic I took on April 21st. I'd not look to make any reservations anytime soon. I don't think it's due to open till next year, but don't quote me on that.
It was loosely scheduled to open the summer of 2007. I'm thinking with the changes to Tusker House happening this fall, I would hope Yak And Yeti will be open by late August. It could handle the lack of dining options the Tusker House refit will create. Especially at dinner times.
I have absolutely no idea when it is going to open but I just wanted to ask................who the heck came up with that name??? :inquis:
I googled Yak and Yeti while looking for info about the restaurant and it turns out that there is a Hotel Yak & Yeti which is a premiere 5 star deluxe hotel in Kathmandu,Nepal ...
I don't know, but I overheard one cm that wasn't impressed with the name. After all, it's not likely that they'll offer yak (or yeti) as part of the menu. Anyone have a better suggestion for the name of the restaurant?

The latest word is the Yak & Yeti will open in October of 2007. I was just down there last week and, to me, even that looks like a stretch (see photos).
Signage on the contruction walls surrounding the location of the Yak & Yeti Restaurant
As you can see, they have quite a ways to go.
Yup, that's what I saw when I was up there
I wonder if they will take all the quick services in Animal Kingdom off the Disney Dinning Experience once this restauruant opens? I hope not!
I wouldn't think so. MK is mainly quick service and they remain on the plan. It would be impossible to get an ADR for Y&Y if there is nowhere else to eat in AK on the DDP.
I always love a new Disney restaurant to try!
I'm hoping to get my first taste of "Yak" in December.......I'm kind of hesitant to try the "Yeti" seeing that he is the gaurdian of the mountain!:dizzy:
