I know that they are making Tusker House into a sit down restaurant but are they going to be closing the restaurant down at some point to refurb it? and if so when?

Tusker House - Tusker house will be closed from August 20 until November 17. During this time, the Safari Celebration Dinner Grand Gathering will be unavailable. The last Safari Grand Gathering will be on August 19. It will return on November 25.

Yea, me too! This is the first I've heard of this. We went there for lunch in July the first day we were in DAK and really enjoyed it! When we went back a few days later we decided to try Flame Tree BBQ b/c I had heard that it was good. I don't know if they were just havin' a " bad food day " or what, but it was HORRIBLE!!! We wished we had gone back to Tusker House!

The breakfast at Tusker House is great, and it's a lot of food for i think a little over 5 bucks. Great deal...just ate there again last week...probably for the last time

anyone have any clue as to when they may start taking reservations for Donald's Safari Breakfast? a while back I was told mid-August, but I just got oof the phone with them and they still are taking them yet. I seriously need this breakfast for our family trip in December!!!

apparently the Tusker House started taking reservations for Donald's Safari Breakfast a couple days ago. I got mine. you got yours?

Have you heard yet if it will be just like Donald's Breakfastosaurus? We loved that.

The new breakfast is being called Donald's Safari Breakfast so the characters will probably have slightly different costumes. I'm glad they kept Donald as the host. And, yes, WDW Dining started taking reservations starting on November 18th.

Wait, what? I'm apparently not up on the Tusker closing. What exactly is happening? Are they changing the menu and all completely? That stinks...I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tusker and the Safari Beer! *sigh* It just ain't right.

It's too bad they're closing the Tusker House for breakfast; I remember enjoying an enormous serving of the tastiest hash browns EVER at that restaurant. Every time I went back over the years, there was nothing happening there in the mornings, except for the little walk-up coffee counter that had danishes and bagels and such.

Did I tell you how tasty those hash browns were? Full of sautéed peppers and onions... (now I'm running off to the kitchen for an 11PM snack, because this thread is making my stomach growl...).
