    Desserts on the Dining Plan

    Hey guys,

My trip is coming up super soon (4 days and counting!) and we are using the Basic Disney Dining Plan for the first time. I noticed that you get a dessert for both the table and counter service restaurants. My dad is diabetic, and I was just curious if you can ask to substitute a dessert for an appetizer. I just think that two desserts a day for him might not be a good idea. I also know that Disney does an amazing job accommodating everyone, and I'm sure they would have sugar-free dessert options for him as well. I was just wondering if substitutions were possible. Thanks everyone!!

I'd see if you could talk to the chef when you sit down. I've heard WDW is GREAT about accommodating special diets. They could quite possibly have some diabetic options

There is a blurb halfway down about how their congerie helped.

I have heard that you need to email Disneys chefs to let them know of any diet needs and yes lots of sugerfree stuff I just got back like two weeks ago and was not aloud to sub veggies for slaw(at yak&yety) so good luck with that.
Dreaming of my next trip to Disney World
