T-Rex! Dining Plan? Opinions?

Hello, although I have been to WDW plenty of times, I haven't been since 1993 and we all know plenty has changed!
This will be our first WDW family vacation and my little boy is 5. My question is, will T-Rex be part of the dining plan? Also, has anyone been? Is it worth going to?
Thanks,
Amy

Re: T-Rex! Dining Plan? Opinions?

I have not been to T-Rex, but it is not part of the dining plan - like Rainforest Cafe. They do not take actual reservations, but if you call them, it is like the call ahead seating that many chain restaurants offer. If you give them the time you will be there, they will have your name high on the list of people waiting to be seated at that time. Lou has a nice video on his site that shows off the restaurant. It sure looks cool. I hope this helps.

Re: T-Rex! Dining Plan? Opinions?

Although the T Rex Restaurant is not on the dining plan - if you have a Dino lover in your family, then this is a MUST SEE!! I ate here right after it opened, and thought it was fantastic!!! Each room is amazing!! The audioanamtronic dinos are so life like - in fact, the large T Rex in the front of the restaurant gets quite vocal!! I often suggest to clients with little ones to ask to be seated near the back of the restaurant so the T Rex's tirade won't freak them out! Instead of a rain shower every twenty minutes like in the Rainforest's Café, there is a meteor shower that is out of this world (no pun intended!).

Trust me --- your son is going to want to eat here every night!!

Re: T-Rex! Dining Plan? Opinions?

I attempted to go... got seated, yet no-one came to greet us and take our order for an ungodly long time. So, we have got up and left. This was soon after they opened in January 2009. Hopefully they've got their act together now. I was really excited about eating there too. Too bad

Re: T-Rex! Dining Plan? Opinions?

We went to the T-Rex on April 9. They do not accept the dining plan. The food was pretty good, but it was not the best meal I have ever had. I should mention that I was really hungry as we had to wait nearly an hour to get in.

Re: T-Rex! Dining Plan? Opinions?

I ate at the T-Rex in mid-May for lunch...like mrklig said, it was good, but it wasnt outstanding. I had a burger, pretty basic. I have to say though that for lunch, it was WAY too heavy...i was sooooo stuffed, and i only atre like 1/2 the burger. My friend got some sort of chicken sandwich, and she loved it. To me, it was the Rainforest Cafe minus the elephants plus the woolie mammoths...the restuarant itself was awesome though, VERY visual. Because we went for lunch, and it was only like 11:30, there was about a negative 2 second wait for a table, lol. We got right in, thankfully, since it was downpouring like it did the rest of that weed. Overall, it was a good experience. i would eat there again

Re: T-Rex! Dining Plan? Opinions?

I just made a reservation at the TREX cafe on july 27 for 8:45. I used priority seating and we have never done that before because we always use reservations. We have 9 people in our party so i was wondering if priority seating will be worth it or will the wait be ridiculously long?

No, because they are not owned by Disney at all.
