Ohana for Dinner

We are going to WDW in December and want to try somewhere new. We have been to the breakfast and loved it, and want to try Ohana for dinner.
I would like some opinions from anyone who has tried it.
Thanks
Donna & Darrin

Re: Ohana for Dinner

I've been to 'Ohana for both breakfast and dinner and love both. We just recently had dinner there for the first time in June, and I'm hoping to book it again for our Jan. trip. I thought all of the food was fantastic, and it was nice to have the family style and not have to deal with a buffet. I especially loved the chicken wings, pot stickers and salad. It's definitely worth a try.

Re: Ohana for Dinner

Ohana for dinner is hands down the best best best food on property is our opinion. Could not get enough of it and we're starving for more. You start with a loaf of pineapple bread (delicious!), then you get your salad (very green, leafy, vinegarette dressing that was very refreshing) Teriyaki noodles (yummy), Broccoli (buttery and homemade tasting), Sticky Wings (done in a dark ginger-teriyaki glaze with seseme seeds. Very moist, fall off the bone), and Potstickers in a tangy honey-like glaze (my favorite app, stuffed with pork and chopped green onion fried in a crispy wonton shell....I think I ate 8 of them!). Then you get your meats--Smoked Turkey, Pork, Beef, and Shrimp. We tended to prefer the Beef as it was perfectly medium rare pink and juicy. They give you three dipping sauces and the ginger sauce was fantastic. Only enhanced the already wonderful flavors. Lastly, bread pudding for dessert. That is, if you have room at this point. We're talking size-wise similar to two pieces of Texas Toast stacked on top of each other for the actual bread pudding, then a single scoop of Vanilla bean ice cream that's really about the size of 4 scoops, along with a sizzling side of banana caramel sauce. It was amazing. Get reservations for any time you can, you won't be sorry. I'll post a few somewhat disgusting but totally funny photographs of my husband's progression through this meal. I've never seen the man eat so much!

He insisted on using the "big boy" spoon!

And proceeded to eat it all by himself!

After dinner...I swear I married a 4-year old!

OMG! I can't believe he managed to eat all of that!

My brain immediately went to your monthly food budget.

Re: Ohana for Dinner

We LOVE Ohana for dinner!!! We weren't able to get in for dinner this trip. Didn't help that we booked our trip under 60 days.... Ohana is one that you need to jump on as soon as your ADR booking window opens! Give it a try Donna, you won't be sorry!

Look at Adam!!! I hadn't seen those pics before! Geesh.....I guess we need to stay away from the all you can eat places for our Christmas meets!

Re: Ohana for Dinner

Ohana is yum - one of my favorite places on property to eat! The salad is to die for and the rest of the meal isn't too bad either . I hope you guys get a table there - you won't regret it!!

Re: Ohana for Dinner

I'll be the contrarian. I was wildly unimpressed with O'hanna for dinner. It was way too loud and active for us. We were seated right under a speaker and couldn't talk to anyone else in our party. The food was decent but came to our table lukewarm. I think it would be ok for people with children, but I didn't much like it.

Re: Ohana for Dinner

I LOVE 'Ohana. Of all the places i've eaten in WDW so far, Ohana is hands down my favorite. The food (as you have seen) is delicious, especially the Wings (my favorite in the world) and the Bread pudding is awesome. They had a singer with a ukulele there that really added to the atmosphere. We had a window table with an AMAZING view of the Castle Dreamlights. If you would prefer a slightly quieter dinner, ask to be seated in the back part of the restaurant behind the grill. The activities (which are fun to watch and even better if you have kids) take place mainly in the front part of the resturant where there is a path on the floor for the coconut races, etc...

I'm sure you will enjoy it!! (Have fun!)
