Le Cellier dinner 2 credits on dining plan 2011

Just heard the news that starting in 2011, a dinner at Le Cellier will be two credits on the dining plan. I know it is popular, it is one of my favorites, but I am disappointed! This and I'm sure another price increase for the dining plan about to be announced, I think the dining plan is about to cross over to the dark side. It will not be a value. If Disney is trying to make it easier to get an ADR, this will do it.

This will be excellent news for those on the Tables of Wonderland discount. By the guests go to LeCellier now it would be cheaper to pay outright than to forfeit 2 sit down credits.

The reasoning behind is that it will 'become' only the 2nd Signature restaurant in the parks., we'll see.

Those going before the March cut off can avoid the doubledipping.

Is Le Cellier really worth that? I would never get the DDP, so it does not matter much to me. Vast majority of TS at WDW is overpriced compared to the quality of the food (in my opinion).

I've been a fan of Le Cellier long before this existence of a Dining Plan. My last visit for a late lunch was nice, but not up to the expectations set by previous visits. Maybe the lunch menu will be more pedestrian with the gourmand options residing on the dinner menu.

If this helps with the ridiculously limited ADR availability I'm all for it. I think lunch will be the hard-to-get ADR once this takes effect.

Sure, Table Service restaurant prices at WDW are inflated, but for the cream of the crop (Brown Derby, Le Cellier, Rose & Crown...) it's a great place to wine and dine in some unique atmospheres. You're definitely paying for the experience and ambiance. Whether or not it's worth it to you is definitely very much a personal thing.

i aint going to complain.. im giving to 2 credits for the royal table and i totally already know the food is proably not what i think it will be or should be.. but then again my dinning is free this around

It's not free.... it's just a discount hidden in the word free.

They could just as easily have given the guests a room discount, but the words FREE get more attention LOL!

As for LeCellier... if they change the menu and improve the service it MIGHT be worth two credits. But as it currently stands LOL!

IMHO the best resturant in Epcot isn't even accepting the Dining Plan at all. To me that says something about the quality we are now getting!

Your points are valid. I don't know that anyone would disagree that the dining plan has really dumb'd down the menu offerings.

We ate at LeCellier from the time they converted it from a cafeteria to LeCellier. It was not crowded and a good meal. Last few times we were really rushed through. If I was paying for the dining plan I would not use two credits at LeCellier. I love the soup. I'd be more inclined to just order soup and dessert and pay the bill outright and not use 2 credits.

Guests should use the dining plan calculator and see exactly what 2 dining credits cost them. It is cheaper to just pay the check from menu prices then to use the 2 credits.

They really need to re-vamp and adjust prices to account for the 2 Credit dinner. As it stands now, it's not worth it.

Though considering I don't do the DP, they can leave it as is and I can get an ADR We're heading there in October, so it doesn't affect me anyway
