Guessing Disney has heard we've been in a recession.

    Casey's Corners new menu.

WDWNT is reporting on the new menu:

$8.09 for a hotdog and fries. How is a few veggies tossed on top of a hotdog considered a gourmet dog?

A new menu now available at Casey’s Corner

“Gourmet” hot dogs have made it here after first being offered at the Lunching Pad

Gene and Judes just outside of Chicago was awarded the best hotdog in the Nation in the Winter of 2011.

For around $2.00 you get a hotdog and fries.

For around $5.00 you get 3 hotdogs and fries.

Disney's chicken blend hotdog $8.09 vs Gene & Judes Vienna Hotdog $2.00

I love Chicago style hotdogs but Disney's version is missing the sport peppers and I don't see celery salt listed either. I'll probably fork over $8 to try one in July. Highway robbery or not, I never pass up a Chicago Dog!

I wonder how many folks would even notice if the "dog" part was missing if they took it out with all that other "stuff" on there?
Whatever happened to just mustard on a dog? Or just a dog, by itself, in a bun?

I'll have to give Sonic another go on the chili dog. I wasn't impressed with it before. I will say they have a pretty righteous Chicago Dog though! Bringing it full circle back to the Chicago Dog!

Nothing beats the Costco $1.50 hotdog/large drink combo.

And you know Costco isn't loosing money!

We use to grab a quick hotdog off the cart in Liberty Square grab a couple cups of chopped fruit, sit on a wall and be on our way in a few minutes. Few bucks, full tummy.

Disney needs to watch "Mr. Mom" and get a clue.

Re: Guessing Disney has heard we've been in a recession.

When I was there last summer, one of the days I was in Magic Kingdom my cousin and I ate lunch at Casey's...I honestly think that I payed maybe only a few cents more than that $8.09 price for my entire meal of a hot dog, fries and a drink...for this price you might as well just go to a sit-down restaurant for lunch

However...every time I go to Disney World I have to go to Casey's and eat at the pinball machine...I remember, vaguely, doing so the first time I went, when I was 5, and it just seems to have been a tradition to do so every trip since

Kind of pricey for a hot dog if you ask me. If you really want stuff on your dogs, get the regular dog meal to go and head up to Pecos Bill or over to Cosmic Rays and fix 'em up however you want 'em.

Re: Guessing Disney has heard we've been in a recession.

I was thinking the other day about how as far as counter service in WDW goes, Ive never had huge sticker shock. In most cases I havent even found it to be that much more than normal fast food prices. Then I realized it's cause I'm canadian, duh! It's funny having both canadian and US tv stations and seeing the exact same commercial except for the price is DOUBLE here. For instance there are these "My my my $1.89" wendys commercials right now, and then I'm watching a US channel and its "my my $0.99." Whats even worse is that our dollar is BETTER than yours right now!

My point... for me to spend $8 on a hot dog PLUS fries is for sure not bad. Especially at Disney World! I'm glad spending money on food at WDW doesnt seem so bad for me, but now I'm angry at OUR food being overpriced!
