    Question Poly Luau Dinner

    Hi everyone,

Just a quick question about the Poly Luau dinner show.

I have been reading on various sites that a lot of people don't like this show or food for various reasons, the 2 main being its not a good presentation (not authentic enough) and unfamiliar food.

It just makes me wonder how I read through so many negative reviews and only a handful of positive ones, when this show is supposed to be one of the best dinner shows that Disney has.

This is one of my (tentative) ADR's (if I cant get Cindy's).

I really love the Hawaiian culture and think this would be a great experience to see both for me and my DD4 on our upcoming trip in August.

If anyone has seen this show, what is your opinion about it, what did you like best and least about it?

Also, are there buses that would take you back to your home resort after the show is ended?

    Re: Poly Luau Dinner

I did the Spirit of Aloha show on my trip in 2009. I would say overall it was a 7.5 to an 8. I thought the food was good ( not traditional, at least to an actual luau, but good none the less ), the show was fairly entertaining as well. I was there in January and it was VERY chilly that night but that isn't anyones fault. It's possible the people who are giving it negative reviews are comparing the show to an actual Hawaiian luau. I've done both and as long as you don't go in with the expectation of getting an actual luau you will enjoy yourself, HAVE FUN!

I agree with FritzTiki. I've been to an actual luau and to the Poly Luau and they were both different, but very enjoyable. Keep an open mind and enjoy yourself. FYI . . . The pineapple bread was awesome.

    Re: Poly Luau Dinner

We didn't book it with our DDP, we got Cindy's Table!! But I am debating if I want to make a ADR for it anyways...but since i am out of DDP credits, it would have to be out of pocket...hm...think think think!!

even if we dont do it, we will still get a good poly fix, cause we going to ohana and i cant wait to sightsee around the resort!!
