Do you want dining ideas like where to eat or want to know about the dining plan itself?

Do the math... calculate cost without the DDP, then see if the DDP works for you. Call early on ADRs (or website) to make sure the DDP is for you.

I second the ADRs. Assuming you're going for the full dining plan (and not Quick Service), make your ADRs as soon as you're able to (180 days out). That's the best way to make it worth it. If you really want to see the financial savings from it, chose things that are more pricey to use your credits on. For example, the all-you-care-to-eat meal at Whispering Canyon which is $28 per person or the more expensive buffets etc. etc. Make good use of it and it will make for a whole lot of fun. Same goes for when you use your Quick Service credits and Snack credits. Plan the best ways to use everything and get the biggest bang for the buck.

That's what we do anyway... if we're going to go DDP we're going to get the most we can out of it!

We always check the various menus online & everyone gets to pick at least one restaurant to dine at. My son loves seafood & steaks so having the dining plan is a must. Prices at some table service restaurants add up quickly. Check the menus to make sure they offer foods that will please everyone in your party and make adrs for the table service restaurants. Have a great time!

We LOVE the DDP and just hope that it is still available in 2013! :-)

Take a look on the Disney Tourist Blog site, under the Dining section - Tom and Sarah Bricker have done a nice breakdown of the dining plans and some very useful advice.
