    Macaroni & Cheese Hot Dog?

I heard Lou mention a mac & cheese hot dog during the newscast, has anyone had the opportunity to try one and taken advantage of it?

It's not a pairing someone would naturally think of, but those are two of my favorite foods and I cant help but be a little curious.

It is a good way of covering up the taste of the Chicken Dogs Disney switched to a few years ago.

Here are a few more threads on the Gourmet Hotdogs, to me, slop on a Hot Dog at a higher price.

The more I see gourmet hot dogs and coffee, the more I realize what a simpleton I really am.

Did no one else here eat hot dogs chopped up in their mac and cheese as a kid? Maybe this is a strange Ontario thing haha, it's pretty common here. It's something that 5 year old me loved, and 25 year old me refuses to try just in case I still love it... :P (and no, I won't be trying a mac and cheese hot dog either, although I have a feeling my fiance would..)

You can chop up anything in mac-n-cheese and make it good!

    It's good that way, too.

For lunch yesterday I brewed up some mac-n-cheese, mixed in some tuna, added several dashes of Tobasco, and blammo!

Hamburger and bacon are another fine addition.

    As is ham...

Ouch! You hurt my Mac & Cheese. Though I've been known to fry up nice nice and thick maple smoked bacon as a side to my Mac and Cheese. I would find it sacrilege to smother that Bacon's taste into the Mac and Cheese.

Mac and cheese on a hotdog is blasphemy, just like putting ketchup on a hotdog. It's also disgusting.

I went to school near Chicago and asked for ketchup on a hot dog. My friends were horrified.

Growing up my Dad used to make Mac & Cheese and then pan-fry some Spam to mix in. It was delicious. Our hot dogs though used to get mixed into cheesy potatoes...that was at Day Care!

I was born in Chicago. That is a no-no! It goes beyond the city boundaries too.
    What school did you attend?

Ewww. One sounds as bad as the other. So wonder why you appreciate good food as a big person.

Acceptable hotdog toppings: spicy mustard, onions, sauerkraut. Chili, if I made it myself.

Me, Chicago Style...yellow or brown mustard, chopped white onions, a kosher pickle spear, sliced tomato or wedges, sport peppers and a dash of celery salt. It calls for relish but I don't do relish.

If I am doing a Chili Dog, it has to be my chili, don't trust or like most fast food chili's and topped with onion and a healthy slathering of coleslaw.

Sauerkraut is reserved for Brats and Polishes. (If you are ever near Kenosha Wisc., the Brat stop is a mouth watering experience.) My son spent his first couple of years in college in Kenosha. Lordie Yum.

Gabe, you'd hate our hotdogs then! Almost everyone here puts tomato sauce on a hotdog We generally have tomato sauce, American mustard ( yellow mustard to you ), onion, garlic, bacon and cheese of course!
