Gusto Wine Bar coming to Italy in Epcot.

Gusto Wine Bar It is anticipated by the end of April a brand new bar

will open in Italy. It will go next to Tutto Italia but will operated

separately from the restaurant. Disney is saying it will be designed

as an old world wine cellar, dark atmosphere highlighted by a

fireplace. Rumors are there will also be some food available, likely

snacks and appetizers.

While I don't mind per se a new wine bar, I am rather disappointed in the new direction the World Showcase is heading. Almost as if it is being transformed into an adult beverage and dining venue, the worlds largest food court.

I am trying to remember the last time anything was added to the showcase beyond food and liquors. I recall the play boat going into Norway and then being torn out, beyond that I am having a hard time coming up with any imagineering in the World Showcase.

Well, allegedly we are getting Brazil (BLAH), so I guess some creativity has to go into that...

As a 24 year old who enjoys their liquor (within reason), I am excited about these recent additions; as a future parent who will be taking their children here one day, this will mean nothing to me. I plan on being responsible and not getting trashed in Disney World in front of my children. And honestly, being drunk at Disney kind of takes the fun out of it. You can be drunk anywhere...

Whooopsie! I've been kinda out of the big loop the last month. I heard rumors for years already about Brazil. How did I miss this? Details please.

Don't know about Brazil, but would like a few non-alchoholic family oriented additions. Loud drunks are never fun with your little ones.

Same here :-) I know Disney isn't exactly the first place you think of when you think of "Vacation destinations I can go to drink", however, it is nice to see Disney catering to the 21+ dynamic somewhere. While I don't exactly want to see a mini Pleasure Island type thing opening up in EPCOT, a few off the beaten path places to sample alcohol from other countries would be a nice addition.

I think it's a great idea and will be looking forward to it. Sure, you can get an alcoholic beverage anywhere in Epcot, but other than restaurants there really aren't too many offerings that could be considered "relaxing". So hopefully that's what this will offer.
