I miss Douwe and Egberts
The Main Street Bakery is closed. The timeline is now 1/12/13-5/18/13, for it to become a Starbucks, they tacked on another 2 months. :wow:
And while the Main St. Bakery is down, Tomorrowland Terrace will serve breakfast, minus the cinnamon rolls.
Tomorrowland Terrace. Hmmm. Starbucks, okay the coffee will be okay if they still make it for you like they do at a Starbucks, that will be a plus. Starbucks Disney price, that will be interesting. Starbucks goodies, I don't think they will compare to the goodies the bakery offered. I'm just confounded that a "world class" operation as Disney attempts to project and they have to bring in an outside brand to serve coffee to get it right, albeit the coffee previously offered I could get an off brand convenient store, but Disney does want us to feel the magic.
I am happier that Disney just brought Joffery in to replace NesCafe throught WDW.
It will be ashamed if at some point we're only left with Starbucks goodies but maybe what the final result long term will be better than off site starbucks. While they're bringing in outside brands, I assume for improved customer experience, I think they could replace a several other places where food or snacks are not exactly reflective of a place that might consider itself a world class organization or the price you pay for them.
I can't wait to see the prices for the various Starbuck's coffees.
All I care about are the cinammon rolls!!! I'm okay with the starbucks things... although why couldn't they just serve SB coffee instead of ripping the whole bakery out.... but I specifically go to the bakery for the cinammon rolls and am peeved!!! Have no desire or starbucks... not a coffee drinker. nor a fan of their "bakery" items.
I'm not sure how much Starbucks baked items vary around the country, I'm not a fan of the baked goods here, dry and so overpriced. I like some of Starbucks specialty drinks later in the day however for my morning jolts I am far more happy about Joffery coming to WDW property, the original announcement of NesCafe leaving made me so happy.
Getting closer this was posted on Mouseplanet yesterday.

A gold Starbucks' logo is now featured on the window of the Main Street Bakery, and a second Starbucks sign has appeared above its doorway. Meanwhile, a notice on the door — with the logo of the "Main Street Restoration Society" — alerts guests that the bakery is being "refreshed" and suggests they visit the Tomorrowland Terrace for breakfast in the meantime.
Some will return some will not. They are kinda hand picked, Starbuck beverages are not quick to make and you need CMs that can try to keep pace. Yeah, I've heard mix messages on what the venue will actually be called and what will be retained and what will go bye bye. They already messed up the Cinni Bun so I'm annoyed. :giggle:
I am a big fan of Joffery Coffee so I am looking forward to that!
