Mama's Melrose?

I have heard good and bad things about this, I am booked for the Fantasmic Dinner Package here. What are your opinions for dining here?

And why I am at it what about these places I am booked for also

I Love Ohana's so I am eating here the 1st and last night of my vacation.
I am booked for Olivia's at Old Key West
Japan's Teppanyaki
Always book Rainforest at Downtown Disney
And the New Irish Pub, but I think I am going to cancel that. And book somewhere else.

We love Mama Melrose and it is always our choice for the Fantasmic Dinner Package. The food is always very good and we are always stuffed when we leave!

We love Ohana and Rainforest as well, but I can't help you without the rest of them.

We thought the food at Mama Melrose's was mediocre compared to some of the other WDW restaurants. The Happiest Celebration on Earth dessert, however, was out of this world and we will go back again just for dessert.

We ate at Ohana in September just after the menu changes and we were VERY disappointed. Hopefully your experience will be better.

I can't help you with the rest since I have never eaten at any of them.

We have eaten at the Japanese restaurant in Epcot many times. If you are in to food preparation (as my husband is) and like Japanese food, you will like it. It is a costly restaurant but everything is prepared fresh in front of you by Japanese chefs.

I think Mama Melrose's is OK, normal Italian food. I have not been to the other spots so I can't help you there. Happy eating!

What changes where made to the menu? Do they still have the shrimp and chicken wings and do they still give you the pineapple with carmel at the end of the meal. My husband loves the rice and wontons. I love the Turkey and shrimp and salad.

I was sorta let down with the new menu at 'Ohana. I know many people are raving about the new bread pudding dessert, but it was mediocre. I've had some excellent bread pudding, this was not. I missed the fresh pineapple and caramel sauce. Green beans have been replaced with stir fry veggies, which I was not a fan of...I prefer the green beans. Shrimp has been removed from the skewer and replaced with a pork sausage. My DH and I don't eat pork, so that made it only 2 of the 4 meats we could eat from the skewers. You do get served shrimp in a bowl. You also get fried wonton chips with 3 sauces, these 3 sauces are different from the previous ones. There was no bread and the rice was replaced by Maui Potatoes, basically scalloped potatoes...how that is Polynesian...I don't know. They were good. Wings are still there and so is the salad. Overall, I'm not happy with the changes but a lot of people are. I'm not sure if I'll return here on my next trip.

Mama Melrose's...it's just your typical Italian restaurant, nothing bad or spectacular. And seeing you are from Philly, you have access to better Italian food at home.

I have nothing positive to say about the RFC, but I have eaten at both on property, the one that used to be north of Philly, and the one in Las Vegas. Their problems seem to transcend locations. Wait...last time I went the portions were generous. That's about it. As you can see, I've given it several chances. It's mainly atmosphere.

Teppanyaki is pretty good. It's one of the few "Asian like" places I'll eat, which my DH really appreciates.

I haven't tried Raglan Road, but would like to. It's getting mixed reviews right now. It's also very new, so they are probably getting their kinks worked out.

Thanks for the info on OHana's it sounds like they took out all my favorites, I have Ohana's booked 2x the first night of our trip and the last night. I think maybe I will change this to trying it on the first night and just do something on the last night since I spend most of the time at Downtown shopping for last minute stuff, maybe I will just snack around there.

And well I will still try Mama Melrose's! This was actually the only place at MGM that we hadn't eaten at except for Pizza Planet. Thanks again!
